SHOULD I BREED MY DOG?

Done correctly, breeding is just plain hard work.  You’ve heard talk about folks making money by breeding their dogs……again, done correctly, this is far from the truth.

Some things to consider prior to making this decision:

1.  What are your breeding goals?
2.  Your pregnant mom will need extra care and food, and that is even more important once the pups are born
3.  Does your breed whelp naturally or will a C-section be needed?  Even natural whelpers sometimes require a C-section....an emergency section can run more than $2400
4.  Do you have buyers for the pups you will not keep?

Breeding should be undertaken very carefully with the goal of improving the breed.

Here are some web sites that will help you with that decision.
